Visual Culture Databases
When teaching art, it is important to expose students to a variety of visual cultures. Below are six examples of artwork that have been analyzed in a deeper meaning and applied to the classroom/lessons. The works have big ideas, themes, visual components, and varying mediums. By developing a Visual Culture Database, students are interacting with artwork in a new way that encourages acceptance, inspiration, critical thinking, and increased artistic development.
